Mumbai Meteors had a disappointing start to the season. They lost 1-4 against Calicut Heroes in the first round. However the newest team in the league got their act together as they made a terrific comeback in their second group game. The team led by Karthik clinched a stunning bonus point win against Chennai Blitz. With that they have risen to the second spot on the points table. The Meteors enter the upcoming contest as the favourite against a depleted Bengaluru side.

Bengaluru Torpedoes are yet to clinch a victory in the league. Playing in front of their home crowd, the Torpedoes lost their opening match 2-3 in the league. In their second league game, they yet again suffered a 2-3 loss against Ahmedabad Defenders. Playing their final game at Bengluru, the Torpedoes are searching for a win.
