Wrestling Association of Jammu and Kashmir shall hold two-day 3rd J&K UT Under-23 Championship at University of Jammu from August 20 under the auspices of Wrestling Federation of India, J&K Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association (JKOA).

“Wrestlers in both men and women sections, born in the year 1999 to 2003 (19-23 years) are only eligible to take part in this championship. Those wrestlers born in 2004 (18 years) may participate with the precondition to bring along medical certificate and parental authorisation,” informed general secretary of the Association, Jai Bharat.

Weight categories: Men: Free Style: 57, 61, 65, 70, 74, 79, 86, 92, 97 and 125 Kg. Greco Roman: 55, 60, 63, 67, 72, 77, 82, 87, 97 and 130 Kg. Women: 50, 53, 55, 57, 59, 62, 65, 68, 72 and 76 Kg.

Those eligible wrestlers have been advised by the Association to report at the Gymnasium Hall, JU at 8 am bringing along Aadhar Card, Date of Birth Certificate and Domicile Certificate. No wrestler will be allowed to take part in the championship without Date of Birth Certificate and Domicile Certificates, a separate handball issued here today informed.

The winners of this event shall represent J&K in the upcoming National Championship to be held at Kochi, Kerela from September one to September four.
