The minimum educational qualification:

Senior Clerk (Level-5) – Degree from recognized university
Junior Clerk (Level-2) – 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination.
Technician Gr. III (Level-2) – 10th Std pass, the training period for such sports quota appointees will be 3 years, unless they possess ITI qualification in the relevant engineering trades, in which case it will be 6 months.

Sports eligibility

For Levels 5

• Represented the country in Olympic Games (Senior Category) (OR)

• Atleast 3rd position in any of the Category-B championships/events

1.  World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior),
2. World Championships(Junior/Senior),
3. Asian Games(Senior),
4. Common Wealth Games(Senior)
5. Youth Olympics

For Levels 2

• Level 2 Represented the country in any of the following

1. World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior),
2. World Championships(Junior/Senior),
3. Asian Games(Senior),
4. Common Wealth Games(Senior)
5. Youth Olympics

(OR)

• At least 3rd Position in any of the following

1. Commonwealth Championships (Junior/Senior Category),
2. Asian Championships/Asia Cup (Junior/Senior Category),
3. South Asian Federations (SAF) Games (Senior Category),
4. USIC (World Railways) Championships (Senior Category).
5. World University Games

(OR)

• At least 3rd Position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships. (OR)

• At least 3rd Position in National games organized under the aegis of Indian Olympics Association. (OR)

• At least 3rd Position in All India Inter university Championship organized under the ageis of Association of Indian Universities. (OR)

• 1 st Position in the Federation Cup Championship (Senior category).
