The G.V Raja Sports School in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala was established in 1975 August 11. The contributions of Lt. Col. P. R. Godha Varma Raja, the father of Sports in Kerala is memorable and to mark respect to his efforts the first school for nurturing sports talent in Kerala was named after him as Govt. G.V. Raja Sports School.

G V Raja Sports School, Thiruvananthapuram, established in 1975 has produced sports talents from different disciplines of sports and games who have brought laurels to the country during various periods. A residential school with full fledged facilities for schooling as well as training in various sports, the school has a total strength of 390 students, including boys and girls from Class 8 to 12.
