Dev Javia was one step away from making it to the junior main draw of Roland Garros tennis championship as he beat Nicolas Marcondes Zanellato of Brazil 0-6, 6-1, 10-4 in a league match of the wild card play-off in Paris on Thursday.

The 18-year-old Dev, ranked 70 in the world, will play Emiliano Aguilera Guerrero of Mexico in the last league match on Friday.

Dev took time to get his rhythm owing to the weather conditions and the low bounce of the court. But once Dev lifted his game, the opponent was unable to match him’’, said coach Shrimal Bhat.
