U16/U19 GUARDIANS SOCCER TRYOUTS
VSA will be hosting soccer tryouts for U16/U19 high school boys for the Spring Soccer 2024 soccer season. Fall season for the High School Boys will run from March-May/June (Tentative). Roster size will be max 18 players per team. Read below on tryout schedule & more:

Tryouts will take place at Valley Sports Academy inside the field house.

All tryout participants will be encouraged to make both tryout dates to ensure proper evaluation. It is important that the evaluation criteria is transparent so that each player/parent fully understands the professional coaches’ recommendation for placement within the Guardians Soccer program. At tryouts, players will be evaluated on the following:
- Technical ability | First touch, ball striking, passing accuracy, dribbling, defending, goalkeeping (if applicable)
- Tactical ability | Decision making, game awareness.
- Physical ability | Speed, endurance, agility.
- Psychological attributes | Attitude, focus, respect, coachability.
Team assignments are made by the Guardians soccer staff. Final approval will come from the VSA SoccerDirector. Players will be assigned to teams that best suit their skillset and gameplay.
